Much is this 03-A3 worth?
A neighbor has this rifle that he says his great uncle gave him some time ago. He is offering to me to buy but we need to arrive on a fair price. He knows it needs a bolt assy. As for the bolt, I see them offered for sale but I need to know if I need something specific to this rifle. Any help is...Much is this 03-A3 worth?
The recent home defense thread got me thinking
Shotgun, big bore pistol, rifle, black powder pirate gun...what's best for home defense?I say the best home defense is a set of security measures and devices that keep the crims out of your fine place of residence in the first place.Motion detecting and bright lighting. Cameras that are inconspicuous and NOT on wi-fi because that can be jammed rendering the cameras useless. Quality locks on the doors and floor mounted systems that keep compromised doors from opening. Intrusion/break...Th

Finally a Grip That Fits Me
No I"m not talking about Glock, I'm referring to........, do I dare say it? My Taurus 856 38 snubby. Some may recall the unsuccessful trouble I had with finding grips for my 856. That problem has been solved. While these new grips make it too big to be a pocket gun they do give me full purchase on the firearm. MBT Grips made out of polymer with some side panel texturing but not aggressive. When I get to the range, eventually, I'll find out just how good or bad the texturing
,380 ACP Ammunition
As many here know a lot of the time I carry a KHAR P-380 in an Ankle Holster for ultra concealment.Presently, I carry Hornady Critical Defense as I do in my larger caliber pistols from .380, 9mm, 40 Cal. to 45 ACP.I watched a presentation on the .380 cal. by Massad Ayoob today who I have known for many years in the industry. In fact, Massad purchased an RRA AR-15 from me several years ago. And I spent time with him at Weapon Trade Shows. In the presentation He recommended the Lehigh...,380 ACP A
Columbo and Ice Cream and getting old...
Last night, my wife and I were watching an old Columbo and I got a hankering for icecream. I got up and in the semi-dark kitchen, dished myself out a big bowl of some good vanila and thought I would make is a special treat and put some Hersheys chocolate syrup on it. I got it all fixed up, sat back down in my recliner and took a big bite..... I will tell you right now, that Sweet Baby Ray's bar-b-q sauce on icecream is lousy! The two items come in very similar packaging. Now this is the

To Rail or Not to Rail, it is the question….
For your edc / concealed carry, do you prefer to have a rail or no rail?Does it matter to you?For example, some might bring their edc home, put a light on the rail and a bigger mag and call it their home defense tool.Others might prefer no rail because maybe it is easier to holster, and have a separate and dedicated tool for home defense.I’m in the no rail camp because I like simplicity with my edc. What do you prefer?
Civil Guard marked M91 with a "Y" number - yep - not an "S" number....
Airbornetrooper and I are stumped. Just picked up this gun online - CG number on hex, Civil Guard "M" rear sight mark, buttplate bore condition mark and "Y" number on the right woodline! Why? What's a Y number? I've not seen this before...
looking for oppinions on turkish arms manufacturers
specifically im looking to here from anyone that has purchased and used any Tri-Star, Girshan, and Canik. I have been hearing pretty good things accross the board, and many of these manufacturers make great looking and even great reviewed versions of many classic guns. ive seen good things on everything from barretta, browning, 1911, and CZ all the way up to modern clones like sig and glock style. but who has actually fired any of these turkish clones? anybody here that isnt a...looking for opp
A word of caution when dealing with snakes...
There are few creatures as beautiful or as deadly as the cobra.Naturally, men of our stock are attracted to such critters and for millennia have asked themselves "if only I could harness that beauty & lethality"...and our ancestors have forever thus tried to tame the beast only to find out generations later that the cobra cannot be tamed and once more-we found out that they're quite prolific and reproduce far faster than anticipated.Did you know a...A word of caution when deal
USPS lost my package - Another update
I posted a little over a week ago about USPS package had gone missing. It was a large flat rate box of brass I sent off for processing.Long story short, there was no status update for 18 days. I filed a claim, and subsequently received a delivery confirmation on the 19th day, which was also confirmed by the recipient, that day. Anyway, I went to USPS site to cancel my claim, which I was able to find. However I could not figure out how to cancel. I gave up, figured they would just reject it...USP
USPS lost my brass! And found!!
Update: I submitted a claim yesterday before I made this post. About an hour ago I got a notification that it was delivered!! The processing shop confirmed the receipt. Damn! I am glad it worked out. Ship date was 2/25. It took 19 days to a neighboring state.I sent a large priority mail box full of 556 brass for processing to a well known shop that’s been around for a long time. Although it was my first time doing business with them. I purchased the shipping label at a slightly discounted...USPS
New to me MK4 #1 import marked
I recently came across a MK4 #1 with what looks like import marks. It's mostly numbers matching, except for a few small parts and the magazine. The matching serial numbers have a PF prefix. The barrel, receiver, bolt body and stock are all numbers matched. But I don't know anything else about it.I haven't taken it for a test run yet, the former owner had been shooting it once in a while, so I know it works at least...New to me MK4 #1 import marked
Suicide and Law Enforcement
Tragedy rocks Texas sheriff’s office after four deputies die by suicide in six weeks: ‘It caught a lot of us by surprise’ The death of Deputy Christina Kohler was announced by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office last week www.yahoo.com I saw this in the news today. Unfortunately most of us probably know at least one officer who has was hurting enough to end their lives. This, however, caught my eye despite everything we know about the subject.Harris County is the 6th biggest SD
